The Dubuque Tactical Martial Arts Weapons Academy

A Division of The US Tactical Martial Arts Alliance

The Dubuque Tactical Martial Arts Weapons Academy is an eclectic system that is a culmination of  traditional and modern tactical theories, concepts and applications that have been influenced from different styles from all over the world. Filipino Stick Fighting, Sword, Bo Staff, Tonfa/PR-24, Tactical Knife Fighting, Sai, Kama, Nunchakus, Gun Defense, Cane Defense and much more are featured in this academy's curriculum. These weapons and more will be introduced at different levels of the belt ranking system. Some of the practical philosophies used in this program have been inspired from styles such as Kenpo, Hapkido, Tang Soo Do, Jeet Kune Do, Kendo, Kung Fu, Shotakan, Tae Kwon Do, Jujutsu, and Fencing, to name a few. In essence, a true “Mixed Martial Art”. The Tactical Martial Arts Alliance combines open hand training, as well as weapons. The Weapons Academy isn't limited to any one particular style. Throughout the year we offer training seminars that are open to students from different styles and systems. Additionally, this program features history and philosophy of  weapons, angling systems of attack and defense, competition training, tactical applications, joint lock manipulation, tactical submissions and disarms, flow drills, weapon sparring drills, and more. The foundation of the curriculum is rooted in the Filipino Stick Fighting Systems and concepts of Escrima, Balintawak, Doce Pares, Arnes De Mano, Espada & Daga, Kali, Kombatan, and Silat. This program is taught by expert instructors in a controlled, safe, and monitored training facility.
